The Role
As a Senior Tax Manager, you will take ownership of complex tax affairs, ensuring full compliance with UK and international regulations while identifying strategic tax planning opportunities for our clients. You will lead a small team of tax professionals and act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of all UK Corporation Tax, VAT, and PAYE returns to ensure 100% compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Lead tax planning strategies to optimize clients' tax positions and minimize liabilities in a compliant manner.
  • Conduct tax risk assessments and due diligence for corporate transactions, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Mentor and supervise junior tax staff, providing training on technical tax issues and soft skills.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor on complex tax matters.
  • Attend client meetings and present tax strategies to board-level executives.
  • Stay abreast of legislative changes and interpret their impact on client businesses.

Qualifications

  • ACA, ACCA, CTA, or CIPFA qualified (or equivalent professional qualification).
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in a UK tax environment, preferably within a Big 4 firm or a similar advisory practice.
  • Deep technical knowledge of UK Corporate Tax, VAT, and Transfer Pricing legislation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel and tax software packages (e.g., Wolters Kluwer, TaxCalc).
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex tax concepts for non-specialist clients.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
