Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns, including Forms 1120, 1065, and 1041.
- Conduct in-depth tax research to interpret new legislation and ensure compliance with evolving tax codes.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize tax efficiency for clients.
- Collaborate with external auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual tax provisions and estimates.
- Mentor junior team members and conduct training sessions on tax compliance procedures.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with tax exposure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in corporate tax compliance and planning.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax preparation software (e.g., Drake, ProSystem fx, or UltraTax).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS accounting principles.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-experts.
