Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and timely filing of corporate tax returns (CT600) and associated compliance for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Conduct comprehensive tax planning and advisory to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Liaise directly with HMRC and external auditors to resolve queries and manage audits effectively.
- Perform detailed tax reconciliations and analysis for monthly and year-end reporting.
- Mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance and support for their development.
- Stay abreast of changing tax legislation and ensure the team implements necessary process updates.
Qualifications
- Qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in UK corporate and personal taxation.
- Strong working knowledge of HMRC guidelines, VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, CCH) and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-specialists.
