Responsibilities
- Prepare and review UK corporate and personal tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients with strict adherence to HMRC regulations.
- Manage year-end tax planning and ensure timely filing of all statutory returns.
- Provide expert tax advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and SMEs, identifying opportunities for tax efficiency.
- Liaise directly with HMRC on complex queries and ensure compliance with changing tax legislation.
- Mentor junior accountants and review their work to ensure accuracy and adherence to company standards.
- Conduct internal tax audits and implement robust internal controls to mitigate financial risk.
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CTA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in UK tax, preferably within a public practice or corporate environment.
- In-depth knowledge of UK tax legislation, including Corporation Tax, Income Tax, and VAT.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical tax concepts to non-experts.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
