In this key role, you will be responsible for high-stakes casework, multi-agency collaboration, and delivering therapeutic interventions that drive positive change.
Responsibilities
- Case Management: Manage a caseload of complex cases, conducting comprehensive assessments of children's needs and family dynamics.
- Safeguarding: Lead safeguarding investigations and ensure immediate protection measures are implemented when necessary.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Act as a lead professional, liaising effectively with police, health services, education providers, and legal teams.
- Intervention Planning: Develop and review robust Care Plans and Pathways, ensuring goals are achievable and measurable.
- Advocacy: Act as a strong advocate for children and young people within legal and statutory frameworks.
- Supervision: Provide professional supervision and guidance to junior social work staff and student placements.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and legally compliant case records in accordance with statutory regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: A recognized Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work (BA/BSc/MSc).
- Registration: Valid registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualifying experience in Child Protection or Family Support services.
- Licensing: Valid full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for travel between client sites.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and safeguarding legislation (Working Together to Safeguard Children).
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write high-quality reports.
- Resilience: Demonstrated ability to work in high-pressure environments and manage emotional complexity.
