Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans for medical-surgical patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately documenting all actions.
- Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and medical conditions, promptly reporting any significant changes.
- Collaborate with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to develop and coordinate individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques for optimal recovery.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs.
- Ensure a safe and clean patient environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program preferred; Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) with commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years considered.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in an acute care medical-surgical setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a compassionate demeanor.
