Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans for medical-surgical patients.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately documenting all actions.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and medical conditions, promptly reporting any significant changes.
  • Collaborate with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to develop and coordinate individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques for optimal recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs.
  • Ensure a safe and clean patient environment, adhering to infection control protocols.

Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program preferred; Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) with commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years considered.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in an acute care medical-surgical setting.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
