Job Description
Are you ready to engineer the future of energy?
At Apex Energy Solutions, we are not just extracting resources; we are pioneering the next generation of sustainable hydrocarbon recovery. We are seeking a visionary Senior Reservoir Engineer to join our elite Houston team. In this pivotal role, you will lead complex simulation projects, optimize production strategies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize asset value in challenging environments.
Join us in driving innovation where technology meets tradition, and where your expertise directly impacts global energy markets.
Responsibilities
- Lead Reservoir Modeling: Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated 3D reservoir models (Petrel, Eclipse, or CMG) to accurately simulate reservoir behavior and predict production profiles.
- Production Optimization: Analyze reservoir pressure data and fluid properties to recommend strategies for maximizing hydrocarbon recovery and extending field life.
- Simulation Studies: Conduct comprehensive decline curve analysis and material balance calculations to support drilling and completion decisions.
- Collaborative Strategy: Work closely with Geoscientists, Drilling Engineers, and Facility Engineers to integrate geological data with engineering constraints.
- Forecasting & Reporting: Generate high-quality forecasts and technical reports for senior management and external stakeholders, ensuring data integrity and clarity.
- Field Support: Occasionally travel to field sites to assist in data acquisition and validate model assumptions with real-world data.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A PhD is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in reservoir engineering within the Oil & Gas sector, with a proven track record of leading projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in industry-standard simulation software (e.g., Schlumberger Petrel, CMG, Eclipse, or tNavigator) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of reservoir management best practices, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments.
