Job Description
Apex Global Energy is seeking a visionary Senior Reservoir Engineer to join our elite team in Houston, Texas. We are at the forefront of unconventional oil and gas development, leveraging cutting-edge technology to maximize recovery rates and operational efficiency. If you are a technical leader passionate about reservoir dynamics and sustainable energy extraction, we want to hear from you.
As a key member of our Technical Division, you will play a pivotal role in the lifecycle of our field development projects, from initial geological evaluation to production optimization. You will work closely with geoscientists, drilling engineers, and production teams to deliver high-impact results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Reservoir Modeling: Develop and maintain sophisticated numerical reservoir models using industry-standard software (CMG, Eclipse, or Petrel) to predict reservoir behavior and optimize production strategies.
- Simulation & Analysis: Conduct pressure transient analysis and material balance calculations to identify sweet spots and understand reservoir drive mechanisms.
- Project Management: Lead cross-functional technical teams in the planning and execution of field development plans (FDP) and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects.
- HSE Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities adhere to strict Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present complex technical data to executive leadership and stakeholders through clear, concise reports and visual presentations.
- Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs and improve recovery factors through technical innovation and process improvement.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical training program within the department.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in upstream oil and gas operations, with a focus on reservoir engineering.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
- Software Proficiency: Strong command of reservoir simulation software (CMG, Eclipse, or similar) and petrophysical analysis tools.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of reservoir geology, rock mechanics, and fluid dynamics.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for diverse audiences.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with unconventional reservoirs (shale, tight gas) is a plus.
