Responsibilities
- Lead design and execution of complex molecular biology experiments including CRISPR-Cas9 editing and synthetic pathway construction
- Develop novel drug delivery systems using nanotechnology and biomaterials
- Analyze high-throughput genomic data using Python and R statistical frameworks
- Present findings to cross-functional teams and external stakeholders at industry conferences
- Mentor junior scientists and optimize laboratory protocols for scalability
- Secure grant funding through NIH and NSF proposal development
- Collaborate with computational biologists to integrate AI models in experimental design
Qualifications
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Expertise in mammalian cell culture, protein purification, and next-gen sequencing
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals
- Proficiency in bioinformatics tools (BLAST, Clustal Omega, GATK)
- Experience with laboratory automation systems (Hamilton STAR, Beckman Biomek)
- Strong project management skills with PMP certification preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage $500k+ research budgets
- Excellent written communication with grant-writing experience
