Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols, strictly adhering to safety standards.
- Monitor patient vitals and clinical status continuously, identifying changes in condition and escalating care promptly.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions to promote recovery.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure optimal clinical outcomes and efficient unit operations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lead clinical initiatives and mentor junior nursing staff to foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York (or compact state eligibility).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of acute care nursing experience in a hospital setting.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Commitment to professional development and adherence to hospital policies.
