Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and implement acute care plans for critically ill patients in a 24/7 ICU setting.
- Monitor patient vital signs and manage advanced medical equipment including ventilators and cardiac monitors.
- Administer complex medications and intravenous therapies while monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and surgeons.
- Provide empathetic support and clear communication to patient families during high-stress medical situations.
- Maintain precise electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with all hospital safety protocols.
- Serve as a preceptor for new nursing staff and nursing students rotating through the unit.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an ICU or critical care setting.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certifications (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on collaborative patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in modern Electronic Health Record systems, specifically Epic.
- BSN degree preferred, though ADN with relevant experience will be considered.
