Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Interpret complex telemetry, hemodynamic readings, and laboratory results to adjust care plans.
- Administer advanced medications and manage complex intravenous drips and infusion pumps.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, respiratory therapists, and specialists to implement evidence-based protocols.
- Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients and their families during high-stress situations.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) compliant with hospital standards.
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in an ICU or Critical Care setting.
- BLS, ACLS, and CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification required.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to act decisively in emergency situations.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a commitment to compassionate patient care.
- Proficiency with major EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
