Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and record patient condition changes in a high-acuity ICU environment.
- Administer complex medications and intravenous therapies while monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Operate and manage life-support equipment, including ventilators and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
- Collaborate closely with intensivists, pharmacists, and respiratory therapists to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Advocate for patients and families, ensuring emotional support and clear communication throughout the treatment process.
- Maintain precise medical records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in ongoing departmental quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an ICU or Critical Care setting.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certification required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under extreme pressure.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in modern healthcare documentation systems (Epic experience is a plus).
