Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, neurological status, and hemodynamic parameters.
- Administer complex medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products according to hospital protocols.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, respiratory therapists, and specialists to develop individualized care plans.
- Operate and monitor life-support equipment, including ventilators and advanced hemodynamic monitors.
- Provide compassionate support and education to patients and their families during critical situations.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, infection control protocols, and HIPAA regulations.
- Act as a mentor and clinical preceptor for junior nursing staff and nursing students.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
- Current, unencumbered Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an ICU or critical care setting.
- BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certifications are mandatory.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to remain calm under high-pressure scenarios.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
