Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, neurological status, and hemodynamic parameters continuously.
- Administer complex medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products as prescribed by the medical team.
- Manage life-support equipment including ventilators, CRRT machines, and intra-aortic balloon pumps.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and nutritionists, to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Serve as a primary advocate for patient health and well-being during critical transitions.
- Educate patients' families on care procedures and provide emotional support during high-stress medical situations.
- Maintain meticulous electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with hospital and state regulations.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 2 years of active ICU or high-acuity critical care nursing experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active BLS, ACLS, and CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification.
- Proven ability to operate complex critical care instrumentation and patient monitoring systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to function effectively under extreme pressure.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality clinical outcomes.
