Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, adjusting treatments based on patient status changes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapists, and surgeons.
- Administer complex medications and intravenous therapies as prescribed.
- Operate and monitor life-support equipment, including ventilators and hemodialysis machines.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families during critical care transitions.
- Maintain precise medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal quality standards.
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an ICU or Critical Care setting.
- BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certifications are required.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to thrive in high-stress, emergency situations.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, specifically Epic.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered, empathetic care.
