Responsibilities
- Execute and oversee comprehensive patient assessments and care plans for complex oncology cases.
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other advanced biotherapies according to strict safety protocols.
- Lead multidisciplinary rounds, collaborating with oncologists, social workers, and pharmacists to optimize patient outcomes.
- Provide expert-level education to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment side effects, and home care.
- Mentor and preceptor junior nursing staff and students, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Maintain impeccable Electronic Health Records (EHR) and ensure compliance with all JCAHO and HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor patient vital signs and manage acute side effects of aggressive treatments with clinical precision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science (MSN) is highly preferred.
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in acute care oncology or a similar critical care environment.
- Current OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and BLS certifications.
- Proven expertise in peripheral IV placement, PICC line management, and port-a-cath access.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to navigate high-stress clinical situations with composure.
