Responsibilities
- Provide advanced nursing care to critically ill patients with life-threatening conditions.
- Monitor and interpret complex hemodynamic data and cardiac rhythms to adjust treatment protocols in real-time.
- Administer specialized medications, including vasopressors and sedative infusions, according to strict clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons, and therapists to develop and execute comprehensive patient care plans.
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced medical equipment, including mechanical ventilators and CRRT machines.
- Act as a clinical mentor and resource for junior nursing staff and healthcare students.
- Facilitate empathetic and clear communication with patient families regarding prognosis and care goals.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a high-acuity ICU or Critical Care setting.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification preferred or obtained within 1 year of hire.
- Demonstrated proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation, specifically Epic.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to lead during emergency code situations.
