Responsibilities
- Deliver high-acuity nursing care to patients with acute cardiovascular instability.
- Manage complex hemodynamic monitoring and specialized cardiac equipment, including IABPs and CRRT.
- Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, and respiratory therapists to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Lead bedside clinical rounding and facilitate effective communication among the interdisciplinary team.
- Act as a clinical preceptor for new hires and nursing students.
- Ensure compliance with state nursing standards and institutional safety protocols.
- Advocate for patient comfort and family education regarding treatment plans and recovery goals.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an ICU, CCU, or CICU setting.
- BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certifications (or ability to obtain CCRN within 6 months).
- Demonstrated expertise in rhythm interpretation and advanced cardiac pharmacology.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proven track record of mentorship and professional development within a clinical team.
