Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of critically ill cardiac patients requiring invasive monitoring and life support.
- Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans.
- Administer complex cardiovascular medications and monitor hemodynamic stability.
- Facilitate timely intervention during cardiac emergencies and code blue situations.
- Provide comprehensive patient and family education regarding surgical procedures and recovery.
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain precise electronic health records in accordance with hospital standards and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
- Current, unencumbered Massachusetts Registered Nurse license.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Cardiac ICU or high-acuity critical care setting.
- BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certifications are mandatory.
- Advanced knowledge of hemodynamics, mechanical circulatory support, and cardiac arrhythmias.
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills under high-pressure environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
