Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and provide direct bedside nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients.
- Manage complex interventions including mechanical circulatory support, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions.
- Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, and respiratory therapists to execute individualized treatment plans.
- Interpret complex telemetry and diagnostic data to identify and intervene in life-threatening arrhythmias.
- Document all patient care activities accurately within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Provide compassionate support and education to patients and their families during critical recovery periods.
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in clinical quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an ICU or Cardiac Critical Care setting.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
- CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification highly preferred.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to remain calm under extreme pressure.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a high-paced, multidisciplinary clinical team.
