Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess critically ill cardiac patients using advanced hemodynamic monitoring tools.
- Administer complex medications, including vasoactive drips, with precision and safety.
- Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans.
- Manage post-operative care for patients following CABG, valve replacements, and TAVR procedures.
- Provide critical emotional support and education to patients and their families during high-stress recovery periods.
- Maintain impeccable documentation in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor junior nursing staff and assist in the orientation of new hires.
Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an ICU or Cardiac Step-down unit.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certification required.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure emergency situations.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, preferably Epic.
