Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive nursing care for critically ill patients in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
- Monitor and interpret EKG readings, hemodynamics, and other vital indicators in real-time.
- Administer advanced cardiac medications and manage complex intravenous therapy protocols.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, surgeons, and specialists to develop individualized patient care plans.
- Advocate for patients and their families by providing clear, empathetic communication regarding treatment paths.
- Maintain precise electronic health records in compliance with HIPAA and facility standards.
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an ICU or CICU setting.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (CCRN certification highly preferred).
- Proven proficiency in managing ventilators, arterial lines, and vasoactive drips.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under high-pressure, emergent situations.
