Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and implement nursing interventions for cardiac patients in high-acuity settings.
- Monitor and interpret EKG readings and hemodynamic status with precision.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including cardiologists, surgeons, and therapists.
- Administer advanced cardiac medications and manage complex intravenous therapy.
- Provide comprehensive patient and family education regarding cardiac health and post-discharge recovery.
- Maintain rigorous adherence to clinical protocols and patient safety standards.
- Mentor junior nursing staff and nursing students during clinical rotations.
Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cardiac ICU or telemetry.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and patient advocacy skills.
