Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms using advanced telemetry systems.
- Administer cardiac medications and monitor for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including cardiologists, surgeons, and respiratory therapists.
- Educate patients and families on post-procedure care, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence.
- Manage arterial lines, central venous access devices, and temporary pacing systems.
- Maintain precise electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with hospital standards.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and nursing research projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute cardiac or ICU nursing experience.
- BLS, ACLS, and PCCN certifications required.
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency with EMR systems, preferably Epic.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care.
