Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead research initiatives in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop quantum software stacks for superconducting and photonic processors
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at major conferences (QIP, APS March Meeting)
- Mentor junior researchers and drive cross-functional innovation with AI/ML specialists
- Secure external funding through NSF and DOE grants
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of quantum research experience
- Expertise in quantum circuit design, quantum simulation frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq), and high-performance computing
- Published record in quantum algorithms or quantum information theory
- Proficiency in Python/C++ and parallel computing architectures
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research grants
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
