Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end architecture design for federal government cloud migration and modernization initiatives
- Develop security-compliant frameworks aligned with Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) and whole-of-government standards
- Collaborate with CTOs across agencies to align technical roadmaps with national digital strategy
- Conduct technology evaluations and vendor assessments for emerging solutions like AI and quantum computing
- Mentor junior architects while establishing technical governance frameworks for critical infrastructure
- Represent Australia at international digital government forums and standards bodies
Qualifications
- 10+ years in enterprise architecture with minimum 5 years in public sector/government technology
- Certification in TOGAF, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent enterprise framework
- Deep expertise in cloud-native architectures (Kubernetes, serverless) and API management
- Proven experience implementing identity management and zero-trust security models
- Strong understanding of Australian public sector procurement frameworks and compliance requirements
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with ability to influence senior government executives
- Clearance eligibility at the NV1 level (or willingness to obtain)
