Responsibilities
- Analyze complex urban policy issues and recommend evidence-based solutions to city leadership
- Lead cross-functional task forces on housing, transportation, and economic development initiatives
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and implementation roadmaps for city council review
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using advanced statistical modeling and stakeholder interviews
- Oversee policy implementation with agency partners and measure impact through KPI tracking
- Represent the city at regional policy forums and legislative hearings
- Mentor junior analysts and manage policy research workflows
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or nonprofit sectors
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or Python)
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing municipal policy initiatives
- Strong understanding of Tennessee state/federal regulatory frameworks
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with policy audiences
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred
- Experience with public budgeting processes and performance metrics
