Responsibilities
- Develop and recommend evidence-based policy frameworks addressing urban development, social equity, and environmental sustainability
- Conduct comprehensive policy research and impact assessments using quantitative and qualitative methodologies
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions with community groups, industry partners, and government agencies
- Prepare executive briefings and policy recommendations for municipal council and senior leadership
- Monitor legislative changes and emerging trends affecting municipal governance
- Lead cross-departmental policy implementation projects ensuring regulatory compliance
- Maintain collaborative relationships with provincial and federal government counterparts
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Urban Planning, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of progressive policy development experience in municipal or provincial government
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative policy analysis methodologies
- Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes and build consensus
- Demonstrated experience with regulatory frameworks and government decision-making processes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license and willingness to travel to community sites
- Knowledge of Ontario's Municipal Act and Planning Act requirements
