Responsibilities
- Lead and manage commercial construction projects from inception through to final handover, ensuring strict adherence to project plans and timelines.
- Oversee project budgets, preparing accurate forecasts and managing costs to ensure profitability and value for money.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations (CSCS, HSE standards) and implement robust site safety protocols.
- Liaise effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to foster positive working relationships and resolve conflicts efficiently.
- Mentor and supervise site teams, including junior project managers and site agents, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to maintain high standards of workmanship.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial construction project management within the UK.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Full working knowledge of UK building regulations, planning permissions, and construction methodologies.
- Professional qualifications such as MCIOB, RICS, or Prince2 certification are highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Procore) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse stakeholder groups.
