Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive policy frameworks addressing urban revitalization, affordable housing, and climate resilience initiatives
- Analyze legislative proposals and regulatory impacts using advanced econometric modeling and GIS technologies
- Lead stakeholder engagement with federal agencies, local governments, and community organizations
- Produce high-impact policy briefs, testimony documents, and legislative recommendations for congressional review
- Manage cross-functional project teams to ensure timely delivery of policy deliverables
- Monitor emerging urban trends and international best practices to inform strategic planning
- Represent the department at intergovernmental forums and public hearings
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 7 years progressive experience in federal or municipal policy analysis
- Expertise in quantitative analysis with proficiency in R, Python, or SAS
- Deep knowledge of federal grant programs (e.g., HUD, DOT, EPA) and regulatory frameworks
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills demonstrated through published policy papers
- Experience leading complex policy initiatives with measurable outcomes
- Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one within 90 days
- Professional certification in Public Policy (e.g., PPFA) preferred
