Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive policy research and analysis on urban development, social services, and municipal governance
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations aligned with strategic objectives and community needs
- Prepare high-impact briefing notes, reports, and presentations for senior leadership and council
- Stakeholder engagement with community groups, industry partners, and government agencies
- Monitor legislative changes and assess implications for municipal operations
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives to implement approved policies
- Maintain accurate policy documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in public sector
- Advanced proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing municipal policies
- Expert knowledge of Canadian governance structures and legislative processes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Valid Ontario driver's license and ability to travel across the city
