Responsibilities
- Lead complex policy research and analysis on digital economy issues including AI regulation, cybersecurity, and broadband infrastructure
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations through quantitative/qualitative analysis and stakeholder consultations
- Prepare cabinet submissions, briefing notes, and public reports for senior decision-makers
- Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives on innovation policy frameworks
- Monitor international policy trends and best practices to inform Canadian strategies
- Manage policy implementation projects and evaluate their effectiveness
- Represent the department in intergovernmental and public forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Expertise in economic impact analysis and policy evaluation methodologies
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Exceptional written communication skills with samples of published policy documents
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and consensus-building processes
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R, or Python) and policy modeling
- Security clearance eligibility (Reliability status)
