Responsibilities
- Analyze complex urban policy issues and develop data-driven recommendations for federal programs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement equitable housing and infrastructure initiatives
- Conduct comprehensive research on socioeconomic trends and their impact on metropolitan communities
- Prepare high-impact policy briefs, legislative proposals, and public communications
- Represent the department in stakeholder meetings with local governments and community organizations
- Monitor implementation of federal programs and evaluate their effectiveness using quantitative metrics
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in government policy analysis or urban development
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (SPSS, R, or Python)
- Demonstrated success in translating complex data into actionable policy recommendations
- Strong understanding of federal grant programs and regulatory frameworks
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing policy documents
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
