Responsibilities
- Analyze complex urban policy issues and develop data-driven recommendations for city council and executive leadership
- Lead cross-functional task forces on housing, transportation, and sustainability initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs, legislative proposals, and implementation roadmaps
- Monitor federal legislation and regulatory changes affecting municipal governance
- Manage stakeholder engagement with community groups, nonprofits, and intergovernmental partners
- Evaluate program effectiveness using quantitative metrics and qualitative assessments
- Mentor junior analysts on research methodologies and policy analysis frameworks
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis (R, Python, or SAS) and data visualization tools
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing city-level policy initiatives
- Deep understanding of federal, state, and local government structures
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to diverse audiences
- Security clearance eligibility or ability to obtain one within 90 days
