Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate municipal policies across housing, transportation, and economic development sectors
- Lead cross-departmental task forces to implement city-wide strategic initiatives
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using advanced data analysis tools
- Prepare briefing notes and policy recommendations for City Council and Executive Committee
- Monitor federal/provincial legislation impacts and adapt municipal frameworks accordingly
- Stakeholder engagement with community groups, industry partners, and Indigenous communities
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal/provincial government policy development
- Expertise in policy impact assessment and cost-benefit analysis methodologies
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R) and GIS mapping tools
- Proven track record of delivering complex policy projects on deadline
- Knowledge of Ontario's Planning Act and Municipal Act legislation
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license (travel to community sites required)
