Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive policy research and analysis on complex national security issues, providing actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Draft, review, and refine policy documents, briefs, reports, and presentations for internal and external audiences, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to strategic objectives.
- Collaborate effectively with interagency partners, congressional staff, academic institutions, and other stakeholders to build consensus and advance strategic policy goals.
- Monitor legislative developments, regulatory changes, and global geopolitical trends relevant to national security, assessing their potential impact and informing strategic responses.
- Develop and manage strategic projects, including planning, execution, and evaluation of policy initiatives from conception through implementation.
- Prepare and deliver high-level briefings and presentations to senior executives, policymakers, and external groups on critical policy matters and strategic recommendations.
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior policy analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Public Policy, International Relations, National Security Studies, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in policy development, analysis, or strategic planning within the federal government, military, or a relevant think tank/organization.
- Demonstrated expertise in national security policy, intelligence, counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, or defense strategy.
- Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) security clearance is required.
- Exceptional analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise, and actionable policy recommendations.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to craft compelling narratives and deliver persuasive briefings to diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders in a high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with experience leading complex initiatives.
