Our Cambridge-based team is seeking a driven Senior Pharmaceutical Scientist to lead compound optimization and preclinical development. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate cutting-edge research into life-changing treatments while ensuring regulatory compliance and scientific excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, synthesis, and optimization of novel pharmaceutical compounds
- Execute preclinical studies including in vitro assays and pharmacokinetic profiling
- Develop and validate analytical methods for compound characterization
- Prepare regulatory documentation (INDs, IMPDs) and ensure GCP/GLP compliance
- Mentor junior scientists and present findings at internal/external forums
- Collaborate with CMC and clinical teams to support development timelines
Qualifications
- PhD in Organic Chemistry, Pharmacology, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Expertise in small molecule drug design and structure-activity relationships
- Proven track record in preclinical drug development and regulatory submissions
- Strong analytical skills (HPLC, LC-MS, NMR) and method development expertise
- Familiarity with FDA/EMA regulations and ICH guidelines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead complex projects
