Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team to coordinate complex treatment plans for oncology patients.
- Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and advanced pharmacological treatments with precision.
- Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments of patients and their families.
- Educate patients on disease progression, treatment side effects, and self-care management strategies.
- Monitor and document patient responses to treatment, adjusting care plans in collaboration with oncologists.
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in clinical peer review processes.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and hospital-wide safety protocols.
- Participate in clinical research trials and data collection for ongoing medical studies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution required; MSN preferred.
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 3 years in Oncology.
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification is highly desirable.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and BLS certification required.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, specifically Epic.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to handle high-stress clinical situations.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and a track record of clinical excellence.
