Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret complex diagnostic tests across hematology, chemistry, and microbiology departments.
- Supervise and mentor junior laboratory staff, ensuring adherence to strict quality protocols.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory instrumentation to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Monitor quality control processes daily to comply with CLIA, CAP, and OSHA regulations.
- Prepare and review accurate test reports for physicians and healthcare providers.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and departmental audits.
- Train staff on new procedures and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related scientific field.
- ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Strong proficiency in automated laboratory instrumentation and computer systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
