Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end medical billing process, including claim submission, follow-up, and denial management.
- Review and audit claims for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and payer guidelines.
- Analyze denial rates and implement strategies to reduce rejections and improve cash flow.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to resolve patient billing inquiries and discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards.
- Train and mentor junior billing staff and junior coders on best practices.
- Generate and interpret monthly financial reports to track revenue cycle performance.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer policies.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for patient and interdepartmental collaboration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and billing software.
