Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design, analysis, and prototyping of complex automated machinery and robotic systems.
- Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Siemens NX) to create detailed engineering drawings and 3D models.
- Conduct stress analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and thermal analysis to validate product integrity.
- Manage the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to mass production, ensuring adherence to strict timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and software developers, to integrate mechanical systems with control logic.
- Oversee testing protocols, troubleshoot mechanical failures, and implement design improvements based on field data.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance during the design review process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably within the robotics, automation, or manufacturing industries.
- Proficient in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, or Inventor) and FEA software (ANSYS, Abaqus, or COMSOL).
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and manufacturing processes (CNC, Injection Molding, 3D Printing).
- Proven track record of leading projects from concept through to production.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
