Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end mechanical design process for robotic arms and automated assembly lines, from concept through to production.
- Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or AutoCAD) to create detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings.
- Perform complex stress analysis, thermal management, and finite element analysis (FEA) to ensure product durability and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers.
- Prototype and test new designs in the lab, iterating rapidly based on feedback and performance data.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards (ANSI, ISO) and safety regulations.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and review design specifications for accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within robotics, automation, or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor) and simulation tools (ANSYS, COMSOL).
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience with materials selection, manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding), and rapid prototyping.
- Proven track record of successfully launching engineered products to market.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
