Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end mechanical design of complex robotic systems and automation equipment using SolidWorks and CAD software.
- Conduct thorough stress analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and dynamic simulations to ensure product reliability and safety.
- Develop detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications compliant with ANSI Y14.5 GD&T standards.
- Manage the product development lifecycle, including prototyping, testing, validation, and iteration cycles.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing and supply chain teams to optimize designs for cost-effectiveness and manufacturability.
- Perform root cause analysis for mechanical failures and implement corrective engineering solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance within the R&D department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within robotics, automation, or heavy machinery industries.
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor with a strong portfolio of 3D models and assemblies.
- Deep understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and material selection (plastics, metals, composites).
- Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus) and simulation software.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced agile environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
