Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end mechanical design of complex automation systems, from concept to production, utilizing industry-standard CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Conduct advanced stress analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate component integrity and optimize designs for manufacturability.
- Develop detailed technical documentation, including 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs, adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate closely with electrical engineers and software developers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into automated platforms.
- Oversee the prototyping and testing phases, performing rigorous functional testing to refine product performance and reliability.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical failures, providing innovative solutions to enhance product longevity and user experience.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Bachelor’s with significant experience considered).
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably within robotics, automation, or manufacturing.
- Proficient in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo, with a strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus) and simulation techniques for predictive analysis.
- Strong knowledge of material selection, manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, additive manufacturing), and assembly methods.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
