Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design of complex electromechanical systems from concept through to mass production.
- Utilize industry-standard CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of prototypes to ensure performance benchmarks are met.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and firmware developers.
- Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) and work with procurement to source high-quality components.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) and cost efficiency.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (M.S. in Engineering or Product Design is a plus).
- 5+ years of experience in hardware product development, specifically in robotics, drones, or consumer electronics.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo.
- Strong understanding of material science, thermodynamics, and stress analysis.
- Experience with rapid prototyping techniques (3D printing, CNC machining) and manufacturing processes.
