Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design and prototyping of aerospace components using CAD/CAM tools
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for high-stress environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems into complex assemblies
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for precision components
- Document technical specifications and ensure compliance with AS9100 standards
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace, automotive, or robotics
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, ANSYS, and CATIA with advanced surfacing capabilities
- Strong understanding of GD&T, material science, and manufacturing processes
- Certification in Six Sigma or equivalent process improvement methodology
- Demonstrated experience leading technical projects from concept to production
