Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from concept validation to production release using SolidWorks and CATIA
- Conduct FEA/CFD simulations for structural integrity and aerodynamic performance optimization
- Develop manufacturing processes and assembly procedures with Six Sigma methodologies
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design standards
- Collaborate with electrical and software teams on integrated system architectures
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Present technical solutions to executive stakeholders and industry partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred) with 8+ years of aerospace/defense experience
- Expert proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks/CATIA) and simulation software (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Proven track record of designing complex electromechanical assemblies
- Strong knowledge of composite materials, lightweight structures, and manufacturing processes
- FAA Part 23 certification experience or equivalent regulatory compliance
- Project management experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Active PE license in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months
