Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end product development lifecycle from concept validation through prototyping to mass production
- Design and optimize mechanical systems using CAD tools (SolidWorks/CATIA) and FEA analysis
- Develop test protocols and conduct validation for durability, performance, and safety compliance
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
- Collaborate with R&D teams on material selection and manufacturing process innovation
- Interface with suppliers to ensure component quality and supply chain resilience
- Present technical solutions to stakeholders and translate requirements into actionable engineering plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in automotive or heavy machinery design
- Expert proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks/CATIA) and simulation tools (ANSYS/ABAQUS)
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, and APQP processes
- Proven track record of leading product development from concept to launch
- Experience with lightweight materials (aluminum, composites) and powertrain systems
- Valid US driver's license and ability to travel to supplier sites
- Professional Engineer (PE) license highly desirable
