Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept to prototyping using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to validate product performance
- Collaborate with R&D teams to develop innovative solutions for electric vehicle powertrain systems
- Manage project timelines and resources while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
- Interface with suppliers to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce production costs
- Prepare technical documentation including assembly drawings, BOMs, and test protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for automotive or heavy machinery
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and simulation tools (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Strong understanding of GD&T, material science, and manufacturing processes
- Proven track record leading cross-functional engineering projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience with electric vehicle systems and sustainable design principles
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality standards
